Harvest

1: Truth Serum

Must have been ten years or so
I had forgotten all about it
and let it go
But history repeats itself
it's a strange situation
and once again
I am caught in this web
entangled and suspended
and with regret
Finally they got me

I can tell by their eyes
it's not their job to listen
or sympathize
And quickly with needle and pin
they inject transparent liquid
through my skin
I feel it slip from my mouth
I try to resist
but it comes out loud
I fear the words that takes its place
and this serum will extract
what I've displaced

but I will
never let go of myself
and if I do then
never let go of my faith
and if I do then
never let go of my dreams
and if I do then
never let show I let go

Now this drug slows my thoughts
and the interrogator asks me
the best he's taught
He's got a lamp right in my face
the light is giving headache
but I won't break
He carries on around the clock
as he tries very hard to
make me talk

but I will
never let go of myself
and if I do then
never let go of my faith
and if I do then
never let go of my dreams
and if I do then
never let show I let go
and if I do then
never let go of my strenght
and if I do then
never let go of my sense
and if I do then
never let go of my breath
and if I do then
I've got no more to let go of

2: Damage

We changed our lives forever
engulfed ourselves by bloom
Dreamt of worlds together
but were torn apart by gloom

I see you
as naked as the day
you were born
Stripped from
all your pride but with
your clothes on

Standing by the window
I see the raindrops fall
Heavy clouds will gather
there may be hope after all

I see you
as naked as the day
you were born
Stripped from
all your pride but with
your clothes on

When the storm came I was home
very scared
and so alone
and the levee couldn't hold
the flood washed in
icy cold
our paradise turned to debris
Ahhh

Violence in slow motion
glass all over the floor
Desperately seeking shelter
in a house that is no more

I see you
as naked as the day
you were born
Stripped from
all your pride but with
your clothes on

When the storm came I was home
very scared
and so alone
and the levee couldn't hold
the flood washed in
icy cold
our paradise turned to debris
but then
we were free

3: Brocken Spectre

middle of nowhere
the end of may
taking a stroll
on a beautiful day
went to the hillside
and followed the ridge
into the landscape
into a hitch

"what is the matter"
I said to myself
"you are alone
no one else is here"
but the further
I went I got
more suspicious
that I was not

I won't say
I am paranoid
but something's lurking
in the empty void
perespiration
heart in mouth
it's moving faster
I turn around

the ghoul of grey
is greeting me
roaming the mountains
in a haze
engulfed in a halo
his rainbow cage
roaming the mountains
in a haze

If I didn't know
any better than this
I'd never dare to turn my back

the ghoul of grey
is greeting me
roaming the mountains
in a haze
engulfed in a halo
his rainbow cage
roaming the mountains
in a haze

4: Escapism

Keeping me in here is torture at its worst
Got a feeling that this wretched place is cursed

each and every day is coming down to nought
while tedious routines really got me caught

inspiration has long gone
while this life just carries on
and I bore myself to death
while the artificial lights
are burning days and nights
as I work hard to pay my debts

And I yearn for simpler times than these
And I yearn for noone to appease

and I've got a cunning plan
to get off this frying pan
and to get me out of here
A helium balloon
To take off very soon
And fly off towards new frontiers

Sitting in my chair and watch the world float by
The wind is in my hair as I ascend the sky

Towards uncertain land
dreams and fears go hand in hand
who might know what tomorrow brings
new worlds to be explored
and no time for being bored
so excited by these things

I don't know how far these winds may blow
And I don't know if I'll be coming home

I had this cunning plan
to get off the frying pan
and to get me out of here
A helium balloon
That took off one afternoon
And flew off towards new frontiers

5: Incantations

Landscape of dusty gravel
Elevate above the trees
Shed your skin as the lights burn low
Tap your feet and let it go

Dancing on a volcano
balance right on the edge
Walzing round on naked feet
Careless and very indiscreet

The air is charged with incantations
The figures flickers and they roam
The earth glow and catches fire
burn the seeds that have been sown

Dancing on a volcano
balance right on the edge
Walzing round on naked feet
Careless and very indiscreet

Silhouettes of bodies moving
A rite of passage in the night
Round and round and on and on
Perfect circles till the break of dawn

Dancing on a volcano
balance right on the edge
Walzing round on naked feet
Careless and very indiscreet

6: The Jackdaw

When the evening falls
and dew is covering the grass
amphibians are crossing the lawn
newts and frogs and toads emerge
from the pile of deadwood
creeping and crawling the undergroath
in the moisty twilight
in the furthest corner
of the garden

this house is very old
There's noise in the attic
There's noise in the attic
like claws scraping
across the floor

I'm puzzled by the sound
I imagine what it could be
underneath the tile roof lies
a creature of shadow and fear
in the hall I walk to the 2nd floor
to the hatch in the ceiling
Approaching the unknown
with trembling hands
I push it aside
and pier into the dim

this house is very old
There's noise in the attic
There's noise in the attic
like claws scraping
across the floor

this house is very old
and there's a jackdaw in the attic
there's a jackdaw in the attic
Just a jackdaw's claws
across the floor

7: Black Stalks

Capture moments of rust
Paintings gone grey by dust
This place falling apart
Treatment without regard

Time capsules caught by passing age
Walls succombed to winter's rage

whisper without sound
Vessel run aground
City of soft decay
Slowly passing away

Time capsules caught by passing age
Walls succombed to winter's rage
Time capsules caught by passing age
Walls succombed to winter's rage
Time capsules caught by passing age
Walls succombed to winter's rage

8: Harvest

Quiet is the morning
The dawn has yet to come
I woke up far too early
Feeling a little glum

As the leaves are falling
From my family tree
I try to comprehend
What they meant to me

Forgive me for saying
All things must come to an end
Things wil ripe and decay
And then they'll melt away

And Every time I see you
You look like someone else
And though I recognize your face
I cant make you leave the place

Despite the things I do
And despite the things I say
And though I try to fight you off
you'll claim your harvest anyway

Ashes to ash and soil to soil
We all have to shuffle off this coil
And when at last the day arrives
You gotta spread your wings
You gotta spread your wings

And fly from this world
Never to return
Fly from this world
You gotta
Fly from this world

Think about it
Because we have to come to terms

9: Whiteout

Prayers in the wind
Are waving me godspeed
As I ascent into
the blue above my head
Through icefalls
widespread

Abode of snow
The roof of the world
In this freezing cold
my breath got uncontrolled
There's not enough air

In this place so high
Underneath the sky
Clouds are embering
As they're lit by morning sun
On the rising
Daybreak

Hour after hour
From camp to camp
At the summit day
The horizon blurred away
I couldn't see a thing

In this place so high
I was left to die
The holy mother
Bites with teeth of frost
And holds me
Till I'm gone

Prayers in the wind
Are fluttering godspeed
As I ascent into
the blue above my head
waving goodbye
