Back in the fall of 2023, we played a concert in Store Tårn on Christiansø.
For an hour and a half, the audience was taken on a sensory journey, where films were projected on specially hung screens, and laser beams drew colorful fans and figures in the room. At the same time, that year's art exhibition, "The Tower in the Tower", was an active and integrated part of the staging and enhanced the overall experience.
The concert was arranged by fellow islander Kirsten Th. Jacobsen in collaboration with Christiansø Støtteforening and Christiansø Administration.
Selected parts of the concert have since been shown on Bornholm TV and YouTube.
Now the concert experience is getting new life on vinyl. The format, which has long been relegated to the shelves of history and the boxes of thrift stores, is experiencing a renaissance in recent years.
However, it is still associated with significant costs to release music physically. That is why the album is being released via the English record label ElasticStage, which is working on a new model where each LP is printed to order rather than being produced for stock.
The album “Store Tårn, Christiansø” is being released exclusively in this format and will not be available on streaming services or other platforms.
If you want to hear – or re-hear – the special concert experience from Store Tårn, you must therefore secure a copy on vinyl here: https://elasticstage.com/stevanholm
The album will be released on March 2nd
My debut album Odyssey is officially 25 years old today! It premiered at a release party on 20/01/2001 at exactly 20:01. I know… I was really leaning into the theatrics.
To celebrate, here’s a little video of me talking about it. - in danish...
